More vintage clothes that needs some cutting and sewing. :)
Hey guys and welcome to my work station… Gosh, I really miss my fancy sewing machines back in Sweden! All I have now is this miniature sewing kit from school’s convenience store. It’s sort of a joke, but challenging for sure.
I bought a really cute dress and a pretty jumpsuit from Civvies, when me and Chelsea went downtown last Wednesday. The dress, to the left, reached to my feet before I cut and hemmed it. I used it this weekend so you’ll se more pictures of it a little bit later. I was lazy and didn’t sew it though, I just ironed it and that made the hem stay pretty well in place. The jumpsuit, to the right, I’m also making shorter by folding the fabric, ironing and sewing. I’m going to change the button into one of the buttons from the dress; the gold on the original one feels too ”frumpish”.
Oh, by the way. We went to a second hand store called Goodwill too, a little bit further down on Broughton Street (Savannah’s main shopping street). I didn’t find any clothes; it’s a little bit more ”shabby” than most of the other stores. (Kind of like Erikshjälpen, for those of you who live in Sweden…) I did find a really pretty, priseworthy glass-whatever you call it though. Check out the picture underneath. :)

I’m trying my best to make the candy here feel like Swedish bulk candy…
Me and Maria were dropped of at campus again a couple of hours ago, by my incredibly nice host parents (the young ones this time). Since we came back, I’ve been eating, freed my tired eyes from my contact lenses and filled my exhausted body with coffein. I’ve got quite some homework to do. Also, I want to take time to upload pictures from the first week here, to Facebook and to the blog.
Anyways, i alla fall, I better go now. I hope it doesn’t bother you Swedish peeps that I’m almost only writing in English nowadays. It’s just that it comes more naturally to me. I experience everything in English, so I think and talk about it in English, and therefor I guess it’s easier to write about it in English as well. I met the other Swedes again this weekend, and it’s super strange to speak Swedish now! It’s like I’ve forgotten how to speak properly. I don’t know what accent I have anymore; it’s like trying to sing along to a song you’ve never heard before, being really out of tune but not knowing how to get back on track. I just felt really lost and silly, haha.
Well, that was just a paranthesis. Talk to you later!
